British Telecom engineers fixed the damage last Thursday after complaints from 30 villagers in Ible and Grangemill following the strike on July 24.
Grangemill trader Nigel Griffiths said his business had suffered and wanted compensation from BT.
Mr Griffiths, who runs a traditional oak furniture firm, said: "I'm going to try and claim for loss of business as it's been three weeks and two days without a line, during one of our busiest months of the year.
"One of my best customers rang me the day the phone came on and said they had been trying to get in touch for two weeks."
