BS EN 62305:2006
The Lightning protection code (BS6651) has seen the biggest shake-up in its existance. BS6651 is being replaced by the new BS EN 62305, which comes into force from August 2008. The new code has seen european input and is more more quantitive in nature, i.e. Risk Assessment based. As always, EES is ready for the change with investment in training and software to cope with the added complexities involved.

EES get a 92.5% health & safety rating compared with 78% industry average.
Under the Achilles UVDB 'verify' scheme, a selection of sites are independently audited for performance compliance against the business SHE systems and the latest legislation. Compared with all other registered suppliers, EES achieve a 92.5% performance rating verses 78.4% from other members.

After only 2.5 years as members EES wins its first RoSPA award on its first attempt....and it's a gold!

Health, Safety & Environment - verified!
During last summer, EES site staff and SHE management systems were audited over the course of a month for Health, Safety and Environmental performance and compliance by a 3rd party auditor under the UVDB scheme...and passed with flying colours.

Another great year for EES
In 2002 EES launched its Intangible Assets Monitor (IAM) as a better way to assess the organisation's overall performance (than purely financial figures).
The IAM monitors four basic areas, which make up EES's Intellectual Capital, using both financial and non-financial measures for a more realistic assessment.

The whole question of the ESE concept is a prickly one. However, we can report that the first Early Streamer Emitter's (ESE's) have had their 'emmittive efficiency' measured. But as yet, no integration into the BS6651 code has been acknowledged or to our knowledge is planned.
In view of the on going debate in the states (NFPA80), this situation may remain this way for a long time to come. See the Bryan report.
